Scalable Game Design (SGD) refers to a low threshold high ceiling curriculum that teaches children to think at a higher cognitive level. The curriculum starts with a simple game design challenge and accompanies students through increasingly sophisticated ones expressing high-level interactions related to math, science, and artificial intelligence.
Students are able to solve more complicated problems by building upon their use and knowledge of previously learned algorithms, thereby encouraging development in pattern recognition and pattern matching skills which are critical components of computational thinking.
